🌐 Use your own domain
Get a private disposable inbox on a domain you own — higher limits, not shared with anyone. Free, using Cloudflare Email Routing. This guide walks you through it A-Z.
Tip: use a subdomain like mail.yoursite.com so your main website/email keeps working.
Email Routing is a free Cloudflare feature. Add your domain at dash.cloudflare.com → Add a site (Free plan), then Cloudflare gives you 2 nameservers to set at your registrar.
Already on Cloudflare? Skip to step 3. Nameserver changes take a few minutes to a few hours.
- a. In Cloudflare, open your domain → Email → Email Routing → Get started, and let it add the DNS records.
- b. Create a Worker: Workers & Pages → Create → Create Worker, name it e.g.
my-mail, click Deploy, then Edit code, replace everything with the code below, and Deploy again.
- c. Back in Email Routing → Routing rules → Catch-all: set the action to Send to a Worker → pick your worker → toggle it Active.
In Cloudflare → your domain → DNS → Records → Add record, add this TXT record (it proves you own the domain; it is not your private token):
Send any email to (from Gmail etc.). The moment it arrives, your domain is connected.
Your domain is verified. Open the Temporary Email tool and use Open an existing address with any name at your domain, or generate addresses via the API.
Why your own domain?
- Private: only you use it — addresses aren't shared with other visitors.
- Higher limits: longer retention and more messages per inbox than the shared pool.
- Your brand: addresses end in your own domain, which is handy for QA, staging and support testing.
- Free: Cloudflare Email Routing + Workers free tier covers typical use.
