Free Email Forwarding for Your Domain: setup wizard and live checker

Get you@yourdomain.com into the Gmail, Outlook or iCloud inbox you already use — free. Enter your domain and the wizard reads public DNS to find your DNS host and any mail you already receive, recommends Cloudflare Email Routing, Forward Email or ImprovMX, gives you the exact records for your provider’s screen, and checks them live until everything is green. Lookups go from your browser to public DNS only.

Free · No sign-up

How to use Free Email Forwarding Setup Wizard

  1. 1. Type your domain, the inbox to forward to (e.g. you@gmail.com) and the addresses to create — contact, support — or tick Catch-all.
  2. 2. Click Detect my DNS. The wizard finds your DNS host from the nameservers and warns you if the domain already receives mail at Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or Zoho.
  3. 3. Pick a free forwarding service (Cloudflare Email Routing is recommended on Cloudflare DNS, Forward Email elsewhere) and copy the exact records into your DNS host — the button opens its DNS page.
  4. 4. Click Check now (or turn on the 30-second auto re-check). When every row is ✅, send a test email from another account.

Frequently asked questions

Is email forwarding for my own domain really free?

Yes. Cloudflare Email Routing is free for domains on Cloudflare DNS, Forward Email has a free plan that is configured only through DNS records, and ImprovMX has a free plan with 25 aliases. This wizard is free too and needs no sign-up.

Will this break the email I already receive?

Only if you replace the MX records. If your domain already receives mail at Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho or another mailbox, the wizard warns you and suggests aliases inside that service or forwarding a subdomain instead, so your current mail keeps working.

Can I reply from my domain address?

Forwarding only receives mail. Replies go out from your Gmail or Outlook address unless you set up sending separately (for example a paid mailbox such as Google Workspace or Zoho Mail, or a paid forwarding plan with SMTP).

Why is my forwarding address visible on Forward Email's free plan?

On the free plan the forward-email TXT record holds the destination address, and DNS records are public. Anyone can look it up. Cloudflare Email Routing, ImprovMX or Forward Email's paid plan keep destinations private.

Why can I only have one SPF record?

RFC 7208 says a domain must publish a single SPF record; two or more make receivers fail SPF entirely. The wizard merges the forwarding service's include into your existing record and counts DNS lookups so you stay within the limit of 10.

How long until forwarding works?

Usually a few minutes after you save the records, but DNS resolvers may keep old answers until the previous TTL expires, often an hour and rarely up to 48 hours. Leave the 30-second auto re-check on and send a test email when every row is green.
