How to use Random Number Generator

  1. 1. Enter the lowest and highest number and how many you want, or tap a preset like 1–100 or 6 from 1–49.
  2. 2. Keep No repeats on for unique numbers (like a raffle), or turn it off to allow the same number twice. Choose decimals or sorting if you need them.
  3. 3. For names, open Pick from a list, paste one name per line, and pick one or more winners, shuffle the list, or split everyone into random teams.
  4. 4. Need dice? Roll any number of d4 to d100 dice or flip coins. Copy or download the results; your recent draws stay in the History panel.

Frequently asked questions

Is this random number generator truly random?

It uses your browser’s cryptographically secure generator (crypto.getRandomValues), the same source used for encryption keys, with rejection sampling so every number in the range is exactly equally likely. It’s far better than Math.random for giveaways and games.

How do I generate random numbers without repeats?

Leave “No repeats” ticked. Each number can then appear only once, like drawing balls from a bag. You can ask for as many numbers as there are values in the range — for example all 10 numbers from 1 to 10 in random order.

How do I pick a random winner from a list of names?

Open “Pick from a list”, paste your names one per line (or separated by commas), set how many winners you need and press Pick. Tick “Remove picked names” to run a raffle where nobody can win twice.

Can I split a group into random teams?

Yes. Paste the names, set the number of teams and press Make teams. Everyone is shuffled and dealt round-robin, so team sizes differ by at most one.

Can I get random decimals or negative numbers?

Yes. Set Min and Max to any values, including negatives, and choose 1 to 4 decimal places. Every value at that precision in the range is equally likely.

Is anything sent to a server?

No. The numbers are generated on your device and your list of names is saved only in this browser so it’s still there when you come back.
