Passport Photo Maker

Free · No sign-upHow to use Passport Photo Maker
- 1. Take a photo facing the camera in even light against a plain, light wall, then drop it into the box (JPG, PNG, WebP or iPhone HEIC).
- 2. Pick the Document (US 2×2 in, Canada, UK, EU/Schengen, India or China). The face is detected on your device and the photo is zoomed, straightened and centered so the head fits the rules.
- 3. Check the green top of head band, the chin line and (for 2×2 in) the blue eyes band. If the numbers show ✗, drag the photo, use Zoom, or click Adjust markers to move the chin and top-of-head lines, then Auto-fit.
- 4. Click Photo (JPG) for a single 300 dpi photo, or 4×6 print sheet for several copies with cut lines to print at a photo lab or at home at actual size.
Frequently asked questions
Is my photo uploaded to make the passport photo?
No. Face detection (Google MediaPipe) and the optional background model run in your browser, and the finished JPG is created on your device. The detector and model files download from public CDNs the first time you use them; your photo itself is never sent anywhere.
Which passport and visa photo sizes are included?
US passport and visa 2×2 in (600×600 px, head 1–1⅜ in, eyes 1⅛–1⅜ in from the bottom), Canada passport 50×70 mm (head 31–36 mm), UK printed passport 35×45 mm (head 29–34 mm), EU/Schengen visa 35×45 mm (head about 32–36 mm), India visa/OCI 2×2 in and China visa 33×48 mm (head 28–33 mm). The sizes are based on official guidance; always check the current rules for your application.
How accurate is the automatic head sizing?
The tool finds your eyes and mouth and estimates the chin and the top of your head from them, then scales the photo to the middle of the allowed head size. Hair volume, beards, head coverings or a tilted head can throw the estimate off, so look at the markers: click Adjust markers, drag the lines to the real chin and top of the head, and the live checks update. Measure the printed photo with a ruler before you submit it.
How do I print passport photos on a 4×6 sheet?
Click 4×6 print sheet to get a 4×6 in JPG (1800×1200 px, or 1200×1800 when portrait fits more) at 300 dpi with as many copies as fit — 6 US or India 2×2 in photos, 8 UK or EU photos, 9 China visa photos or 4 Canadian photos — with thin grey cut lines. Order a 4×6 in print at a pharmacy or photo lab, or print at 100% (actual size, no fit-to-page) on glossy photo paper, then cut along the lines.
Can I change the background to white?
Yes. Choose a white, off-white or light grey background and an on-device AI model separates you from the background. Many agencies, including the US, UK and Canada, reject photos that have been digitally altered, so the safest photo is one taken against a plain white or light wall with the original background kept.
Will the photo be accepted for my application?
The tool gets the size, head size and eye position right, but acceptance also depends on the photo itself: taken in the last 6 months, sharp, even lighting, neutral expression, eyes open, no glasses for US photos and no shadows. Canada requires photos taken by a commercial photographer, and online applications (such as the UK's) have their own digital photo rules, so check the official requirements first.
