Batch WebP Converter

Convert many JPG and PNG images to WebP at once and download them as a zip. 100% in your browser — private, free, no upload.

Free · No sign-up

How to bulk convert images to WebP

  1. 1. Set the Quality slider (40–100%, default 80%) before adding files. Lower values give smaller WebP files; 75–85% is a good balance for websites.
  2. 2. Drop many JPG or PNG images into the upload box at once, or click it to select them. Conversion starts immediately.
  3. 3. Watch the progress counter, then check the summary showing how many images converted and the total size before and after.
  4. 4. Click Download all (.zip) to get every WebP in one archive, or use the individual file buttons to save images one at a time.

Frequently asked questions

Is the batch WebP converter free, and how many images can I convert?

It’s free with no sign-up and no watermark. There’s no fixed file count; images are converted one after another on your own device, so the practical limit depends on your computer’s memory and browser. For very large batches, converting in groups of a few dozen keeps things responsive.

Are my images uploaded when converting to WebP?

No. Each image is decoded and re-encoded to WebP with your browser’s own canvas, entirely on your device. The only thing downloaded from the internet is the small JSZip library when you click Download all (.zip); your photos never leave your computer.

How do I convert multiple JPG or PNG images to WebP at once?

Choose a quality level, then select or drag all your images into the upload box together. Each one is converted in turn and listed with its own download button, and Download all (.zip) packs every WebP file into a single archive named webp-images.zip.

What WebP quality setting should I use for my website?

Around 80%, the default, usually looks almost identical to the original while cutting file size noticeably. Go to 85–90% for detailed product photos, or 60–70% for thumbnails and backgrounds. The result summary shows the total saving so you can try another setting and compare.

Does converting PNG to WebP keep transparency?

Yes. Images are drawn onto a transparent canvas and exported as WebP, which supports an alpha channel, so transparent PNG backgrounds generally stay transparent. Note that re-encoding does not carry over EXIF metadata such as camera details or GPS location.

Which image formats can the batch WebP converter handle?

It accepts common image files your browser can decode, such as JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF (animated GIFs become a single still frame). Every output is a .webp file with the original name. If a file can’t be decoded, it’s skipped and the rest still convert.
