Free · No sign-upHow to use Excel to PDF
- 1. Set the page: US Letter or A4, orientation (Auto picks landscape for wide sheets) and scaling — Fit all columns on one page or Actual size, which splits very wide sheets into column sections.
- 2. Drop your .xlsx, .xls, .ods or .csv file into the box. SheetJS reads it on your own device — nothing is uploaded.
- 3. Tick the sheets you want and check the preview: values appear exactly as they are displayed in the spreadsheet, including currency, percentages and dates.
- 4. Click Create PDF. The PDF downloads with real, selectable text, and you can change options and create it again without re-uploading.
Frequently asked questions
Is this Excel to PDF converter free?
Yes. It is free with no sign-up and no watermark. Each PDF can hold up to 150,000 cells, and very long sheets are cut to the first 5,000 rows; convert larger workbooks sheet by sheet.
Is my spreadsheet uploaded to a server?
No. SheetJS reads the workbook and pdfmake writes the PDF, both inside your browser. Only the libraries are downloaded; your data never leaves your device.
Which file types can I convert?
Excel .xlsx, .xlsm, .xlsb and older .xls files, OpenDocument .ods spreadsheets, and .csv or .tsv text files. Password-protected workbooks must be unlocked in Excel first.
Are number formats kept?
Yes. Each cell is printed as it is displayed in the spreadsheet — currency symbols, thousands separators, decimals, percentages and dates use the cell's number format, and CSV values are kept exactly as written. Numbers are right-aligned. Formulas show their last saved result.
How are wide sheets handled?
Columns are sized to fit their content, and Auto orientation switches to landscape when a sheet is wider than a portrait page. Fit all columns on one page shrinks the table (text and widths) to the page width; Actual size keeps 9 pt text and continues extra columns on the following pages. The first row can repeat at the top of every page.
What is not kept from my spreadsheet?
The PDF holds the cell values and merged cells, not the workbook's styling: fonts, fill colors, borders, conditional formatting, charts, images and comments are not included, and hidden rows, columns and sheets are left out unless you tick a hidden sheet. The built-in font covers Latin, Greek, Cyrillic and Vietnamese; Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hebrew, Thai and emoji may not appear.
