Free · No sign-up

How to use PDF to PowerPoint

  1. 1. Pick a mode: Exact look puts each page on its slide as a sharp image, Editable text turns the text into PowerPoint text boxes over the page's graphics. Tick speaker notes to copy each page's text into the notes.
  2. 2. Drop your PDF into the box or click to browse. PDF.js renders the pages on your own device — nothing is uploaded.
  3. 3. Check the preview of the first slides; in Editable text mode the dashed outlines show the text boxes you'll be able to edit.
  4. 4. Click Download PowerPoint (.pptx) and open it in PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides or LibreOffice Impress.

Frequently asked questions

Is this PDF to PowerPoint converter free?

Yes. It is free with no sign-up and no watermark. Because the conversion runs on your own computer or phone, PDFs over 200 pages should be split into smaller parts first.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. PDF.js renders the pages and pptxgenjs writes the .pptx file, both inside your browser. Only the libraries are downloaded; your document never leaves your device.

What size are the slides?

The slide size follows the first page: pages shaped 16:9 become standard widescreen slides (13.33 × 7.5 in), 4:3 pages become 10 × 7.5 in slides, and any other shape (such as a Letter or A4 document) keeps the page's own proportions. Pages with a different shape are centered on a white slide.

What is the difference between Exact look and Editable text?

Exact look renders each page as a high-resolution image (at least 2× the page size), so slides look identical to the PDF but the text cannot be edited. Editable text renders the page without its text and adds one PowerPoint text box per line, with the original size, color, bold and italic. Text in a rotated direction stays part of the picture.

Will the editable text look exactly like the PDF?

Close, but not always identical. Embedded PDF fonts are replaced with standard fonts such as Arial, Times New Roman or Calibri, so line widths can shift slightly, and each line is its own text box rather than a flowing paragraph. Shapes, charts and photos stay as part of the slide background image and cannot be edited.

Can I convert a scanned PDF to PowerPoint?

Yes, but scanned pages are pictures with no text layer, so they become image-only slides even in Editable text mode. To get editable text from a scan, run OCR PDF first and then convert the result.
