How to use PDF to Word

Frequently asked questions
Is this PDF to Word converter free?
Yes. It is free with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit. Because the conversion runs on your own computer or phone, very large PDFs (over 300 pages) should be split first so your browser does not run out of memory.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is opened with PDF.js and the Word file is built with the open-source docx library, both running in your browser. Only the libraries are downloaded; your document never leaves your device, which makes it safe for contracts, statements and HR files.
Will the Word file look exactly like my PDF?
In Editable text mode the converter rebuilds the structure — headings, paragraphs, bullet lists, simple tables, images, fonts, bold and italic — so text reflows naturally in Word. Complex layouts like forms or magazine spreads may need touch-ups. Exact look mode keeps every page pixel-perfect as an image, but the text is not editable.
Can I convert a scanned PDF to Word?
Yes. Scanned pages have no text layer, so in Editable text mode the converter reads them with OCR on your device and puts the recognized text into Word as editable paragraphs (untick the OCR option to keep them as page images instead). Proofread names and numbers, since faint or skewed scans read less accurately.
Does it handle two-column documents and tables?
Yes. Pages laid out in two columns, such as newsletters, papers and government instructions, are read column by column in the correct order. Rows of aligned values are turned into real Word tables you can edit, with the first row set as the header.
Can I convert a password-protected PDF?
If the PDF needs a password to open, remove it first with Unlock PDF (you need to know the password), then convert. PDFs that only restrict printing or copying usually open and convert normally.
