Frequently asked questions
Is this Word to PDF converter free?
Yes. It is free with no sign-up, no watermark and no file limit. You can convert several .docx files at once and download them together as a ZIP.
Are my Word documents uploaded?
No. The document is read with the open-source mammoth library and the PDF is built with pdfmake, both running in your browser. Only the libraries download the first time; your files never leave your device.
Is the text in the PDF selectable and searchable?
Yes. The converter writes real text, not pictures of pages, so you can search, select and copy it, and screen readers can read it. Headings, bold, italics, links, lists, tables and images are kept.
Will the PDF look exactly like my Word file?
The content and structure carry over, but the layout is re-flowed: custom fonts become a clean standard font, and text boxes, columns, headers and footers are simplified. For the closest match to Word’s look, use Print / Save as PDF or export from Word itself.
Can I convert an old .doc file?
Only .docx is supported. Open the .doc file in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Pages or LibreOffice and save it as .docx first, then convert it here.
Which page sizes can I choose?
US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) is the default for the United States and Canada; A4 is standard in Europe and most other countries, and US Legal is available for legal documents. Margins can be normal (1 inch), moderate or narrow.
