Blur & Pixelate Image

Drag over any area of a photo to blur, pixelate or black it out — faces, license plates, house numbers, names in screenshots. Auto-detect faces, then download full size with no metadata.

Free · No sign-up

How to blur or pixelate part of a photo

  1. 1. Drop a photo or screenshot above. It stays in your browser and is never uploaded.
  2. 2. Drag over each area you want to hide, or press Auto-detect faces. Pick Pixelate, Blur or Solid box and adjust the strength.
  3. 3. Click an area to move, resize or delete it, then Download — the saved file is full resolution with EXIF and GPS removed.

💡 Tip: For anything truly sensitive — card numbers, passwords, ID documents — use Solid box. Light blur or large pixels can sometimes be partly reconstructed.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes, completely free with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on the number of photos.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser, so family photos, IDs and screenshots never leave your device. Only the optional face detector downloads a small model file.

Which is safest: blur, pixelate or a solid box?

A solid box removes the pixels completely, so nothing can be recovered. Strong pixelation is fine for faces and plates in casual photos; for text like passwords or account numbers, always use a solid box.

Does auto-detect find every face?

No detector is perfect. It works best on clear, front-facing faces within a few meters; small, turned or partly hidden faces can be missed, so check the photo and drag over any it skipped.

Is location data removed?

Yes. The downloaded image is re-drawn from pixels, so EXIF metadata such as GPS location, camera model and date is not included.
