Privacy and security guides: passwords, 2FA and safe sharing
Most everyday data leaks are accidental: a photo that still carries its GPS location, a screenshot with an order number, a PDF where a black box hides nothing, a reused password, or a real email address handed to every newsletter. These guides focus on simple habits that close those gaps.
Privacy is also why most GrabCast tools run in your browser: the file you are cleaning up is processed on your device rather than uploaded. For teams in the UK and EU, keeping personal data local also means fewer third parties to account for under data protection rules.

Frequently asked questions
Are free online tools safe to use?
It depends on where the processing happens. Tools that run in your browser never receive your file; upload-based services do, so check their privacy policy, retention period and location before sending sensitive documents.
Does removing metadata reduce photo quality?
No. Stripping EXIF data such as GPS coordinates, camera model and date removes information stored alongside the image, not the pixels themselves.
Is a black rectangle in a PDF a real redaction?
Not always. Drawing a box over text leaves the text in the file, where it can be copied or searched. True redaction removes the underlying text, which is what a redaction tool does.
Are generated passwords stored anywhere?
No. The Password Generator creates them on your device with the browser's cryptographic random number generator and does not send or save them. Store them in a password manager.
When should I not use a temporary email?
For anything you need to keep: banking, healthcare, work, purchases you may need to return, or accounts you want to recover later. A disposable inbox is for one-off sign-ups and reducing spam.
